There was a major fire at Hadleigh House on Thursday 28 May. The London Fire Brigade attended and evacuated all residents.
Following confirmation from Building Control, Hadleigh House is not available for access and no one must enter the building.
Support for residents
We appreciate that this has been a stressful time for all our residents and are working with the LBTH and THH to support residents.
Residents were provided hotel accommodation and transport. A small number of residents made their own arrangements for alternative accommodation. We are in contact with these residents and if they need us to arrange temporary accommodation in the future, this can be arranged. Funds were provided as well for families to purchase essential items and meals are provided by the Hotel.
We are working with the LBTH Housing Options to prepare to move households from the hotel accommodation to temporary accommodation in council units and will assist with furnishing vacant properties for families if this is needed whilst works are carried out.

Supporting leaseholders
THH are communicating with the leaseholders to keep them updated and to confirm arrangements they will need to make under their building insurance cover.
In the first instance leaseholders have been assisted with hotel accommodated however, are now expected to make their own arrangements for alternative accommodation and for their tenants if they’re subletting.

Next steps
We are waiting for the Fire investigation report. We are also waiting for updates from the London Fire Brigade, Building Control and structural engineers to assess the site before we can report on how long it is likely take to complete works and to get residents back into their homes.
Security arrangements are in place with Heras fencing on the perimeter of the block, ground floor flats front doors being secured and security patrols guarding the site 24/7.
